Dean's List College Student

I am a computer science major at the University of North Florida, and in the Fall of 2024, I will be graduating with a bachelor's degree. Being a computer science major means taking more advanced math subjects such as Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Linear Algebra, and other high-level math courses. I've scored proficiently in these classes, earning As in these courses minus Calculus 2, in which I earned a B. I am passionate about teaching this subject because I feel that in order to succeed in higher-level math courses, having a good understanding of Algebra is a necessity to help you perform well. It is the first math class that will test a student and give them a clue of what they will be facing when their education proceeds. I also just like teaching the subject as I've always loved doing Algebra. In my earlier years of education, I used to hate math and never really enjoyed doing it. Algebra was the first math subject that gave me genuine enjoyment and allowed me to overcome my hatred for mathematics. I loved it so much that I remember having discussions with my peers about certain problems, different ways of doing them, etc. I did very well in the class, earning one of the highest scores on the final in my class. My proficiency in the subject was great enough that my other classmates would come to me to ask for assistance when they struggled with their problems. I always loved helping, and sometimes, my simplified way of teaching the topic would my classmates truly understand it. My goal is to not only help students understand Algebra better but to also instill a level of respect and understanding of Algebra and math in general.

Patient Coach Helping you Boost your Prealgebra and Algebra

Hi, I'm Kadeem; make yourself at home! I'm a STEM teacher by day and an Algebra tutor by evening. I'm passionate about helping students build their confidence. I've helped many students go from failing to thriving in math. Don't just take my word for it; here's what one of my inspiring students had to say: "Overall my lessons with Kadeem over the past few months helped to build my confidence and improved my performance in Geometry. Kadeem used creative approaches to help me solve some of the more difficult problems I was struggling with. For example, he utilized anime when helping me understand how to solve a problem. Kadeem discovered that I was an anime fan when we first started meeting and I thought it was creative he used something I like to help me solve a problem and understand the topic." I help students reach their full potential and gain confidence in their math skills. I have a background in design research, which has equipped me with the skills to help my students understand the underlying principles of math. I'm also a patient and effective communicator, which allows me to build strong relationships with my students and help them succeed. I prioritize building strong relationships with parents and students by taking the time to understand their interests and preferences. I foster confidence, encouraging growth by tailoring tutoring to their unique needs. I believe in challenging my students by answering their questions with thought-provoking questions of my own. To solidify their understanding, I encourage them to explain what they've learned to their parents in the last 5 minutes of each session. If you're looking for a dedicated, patient, and effective tutor, I'd be honored to help you or your child improve their math skills. I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, Kadeem
